DEMO DAY IS HAPPENING MAY 1ST, 2015 AT CIC St. LOUIS

On May 1, 2015 we will be having our third annual Demo Day event! Demo Day is our capstone event where IDEA Labs teams present entrepreneurial solutions, including software and devices, they have developed for medical needs.

Demo Day will be held at CIC beginning at 6:00 pm. The event program includes poster presentations from teams, prototype demos, food and drink, and more! Our top 6 teams will compete in a pitch competition for a chance to win a $2k prize. In addition, we are honored to have Kenneth Mandell MD, PhD, join us from Boston to deliver the keynote speech! Ken is a trained ophthalmologist and CEO of LayerBio who has a research and entrepreneurial background in drug delivery and nanomaterials. Pi pizza and beverages will be available.

The anticipated schedule of events is as follows:

At the event we plan to host a mix of IDEA Labs participants and supporters. Our teams include roughly 130 participants – undergraduate and graduate WashU students in biology, biomedical sciences, computer science, business, and medicine. The participating audience will include entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and investors from the St. Louis community, faculty of Washington University and the School of Medicine, and media representatives.

IDEA Labs has had very successful growth over the past two years due to incredible enthusiasm and support from the Washington University and St. Louis community. Our student-driven biotechnology incubator platform provides a unique approach that is garnering national attention. We hope you will join us to celebrate our teams and IDEA Labs' programmatic successes to date, and support IDEA Labs as we further innovate and grow the IDEA Labs platform within St. Louis and to other universities.
